Spacing
Issues with dental spacing are essentially the exact opposite of dental crowding. Spacing issues occur when teeth have smaller than average, when permanent teeth are lost, or if permanent teeth simply do not grow in. When these issues occur, teeth will usually spread out unnaturally and creating large gaps. Spacing issues usually cause problems such as the inability to properly bite down and difficulty chewing food well.

Most spacing issues only require the use of braces for correction. Elastic bands are often used to help close the spaces. Braces will help close the spaces between teeth, greatly improving the look and function of the teeth. Closing the spaces between teeth will help prevent food from being trapped in the back teeth, making maintaining good oral hygiene easier.
